Founded in 1971 as the Institute of Open Education, Cambridge College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. through the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education.  It offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in education, counseling, management, and human services. All its degree programs are authorized by the Massachusetts Board of High Education.

Classroom and Online Learning

Aside from its main campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts, it has campuses in Springfield and Law, Massachusetts; Chesapeake, Virginia; Memphis, Tennessee; Augusta, Georgia; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Ontario, California.

Cambridge College likewise offers distance education through a combination of in-class and a computer-based learning management system. The system complements the highly interactive, personal approach of classroom teaching and the convenience of online learning where they can take classes almost anytime, even during work breaks, and anywhere.
